Mumbai Metro work finally begins

Quick post to mark the milestone that work - finally (hopefully?) - began on the Mumbai Metro. If anything, the project will at least be remembered for having two Bhoomipujans. The first was on June 21st 2006, and the second on 8th Feb 2008. 19months. 19months before anything even happened.

So reset that clock and that calendar to 8th Feb 2008, the day work began. Let's now see when work is completed.

I googled "Itunes India" and came across your blog. Keep up the writing. Bombay Diaries and Mumbai Matters came across as interesting and meaningful blogs.

Avid - Thanks very much for your kind words!

BA, why don't join SSC again? We've got a metro thread running which has a couple of pics from the construction site - actually load testing.

And then we have a Mumbai airport development thread, a BWSL thread as you know and a new Trans-harbour bridge thread. It'll be great to have a local Mumbai forummer onboard.

do check the forum out-

After a long delay work has started. July 2010 date of starting services seems too ambitious. April 2011 seems more likely.
I stay at 4 Bungalows. can some one tell me the exact location of DN Nagar station on the metro

Sharad - Thanks for the comment and sorry, I don't have any idea about the location of the DN Road Station.

IU - Thanks very much for reminding me! I still have a tough time trying to get a grip on the mailing list concept, but I will definitely come back there soon!
