Bandra Worli Sealink - dream on ?

The picture below is courtesy Hindustan Times (www.hindustantimes.com) which ran a related article in their Bombay edition dated 31st Jan 2006.

So our PWD Minister aims to finish the Bandra-Worli Sealink (www.bandraworlisealink.com) by end-2007. When I look at the mess that Bombay's roads are in today, this seems too good to be true and hence makes me want to believe that it will never happen. Especially since this one project has been held up for so long. In fact I doubt the Worli-Nariman Point will ever take off (no rational reason, just that I don't believe anything will improve in this city).

That Mahim is a huge mess is an understatement. Anyone (someone like me !) who spends half-an-hour getting through a stretch that takes less than 10minutes, knows that Mahim is probably among the biggest bottlenecks for traffic.

Yet, yet...there is always hope. Hope that the current Bandra Reclamation road will ultimately lead on to Worli, rather than be used for speeding and movie shootings. Posted by Picasa Posted by Picasa
